NEC to host “Combating Cybersecurity Threats: Prospects for Congressional Action”
On September 24, 2013, The New England Council’s Technology Committee and Defense Working Group will partner to present, “Combating Cybersecurity Threats: Prospects for Congressional Action.” Hosted by NEC member Microsoft at their Innovation & Policy Center in Washington, DC, the event will focus on the prospects for Congressional action to combat cybersecurity threats, including pending and possible future legislation on issues ranging from information sharing to critical infrastructure protection.

Following opening remarks from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime & Terrorism, the event will feature a panel of key Congressional staff members who are on the front lines of work on Capitol Hill to address cybersecurity challenges.With Microsoft Policy Counsel Eric Wenger moderating, the following Hill staffers will participate in the panel discussion:
