As you know, President Barack Obama recently unveiled his Fiscal Year 2013 Budget Plan. The President’s budget includes $3.8 trillion in proposed spending for FY 2013, including $1 trillion in discretionary cuts. While the final budget approved by Congress will likely look very different from the President’s plan, the Administration’s proposal offers insight into the President’s priorities for the year ahead and suggests what areas he is likely to focus on if elected to a second term.
The New England Council’s staff has prepared a summary of the President’s budget for our members. This summary highlights some of the key provisions of the proposal, particularly as they relates to key industries in our region. We hope that you find this summary useful as you navigate the federal budget process in the coming weeks and months.
