NEC Members Eckert Seamans, Aetna to Present ACA Forum
Forum to Focus on Preparing for the Employer Mandate
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is one of the most significant and complex laws to be enacted in recent decades. Its implementation has imposed new requirements on consumers, employers, employees, insurance companies, and government entities alike. Starting in 2015, the Affordable Care Act requires large employers to offer healthcare coverage to their employees or face financial penalty, the so-called “employer mandate.”
NEC members Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LCC, and Aetna will present a breakfast seminar for NEC members, providing an overview of the challenges and obligations of the ACA and its implementation. As the provisions of the ACA and its obligations are phased in, the legislation has been the subject of much debate and interest. Although delayed, the employer mandate takes effect soon and businesses will need to take steps now to meet their legal obligations under the new statute. Join us to learn about how the universal health care law works and some of the recent legal challenges to certain provisions. We encourage members to share this information with their organization’s human resources, benefits management, compliance, or any other staff who would benefit from this forum.
