As the nation observed Veterans Day this week, New England Council member Raytheon Company, a defense contractor based in Waltham, MA, made a $50,000 donation to Student Veteran’s of America (SVA). The SVA is a non-profit coalition that empowers student veterans to succeed in higher education and beyond.
Raytheon’s partnership with SVA establishes the SVA-Raytheon Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Scholarship; supports the Leadership Institute Series, which provides peer support training to SVA chapter leaders; and launches the Student Veterans Outcomes Project, which will track graduation rates of student veterans.
Upon announcing the partnership, William H. Swanson, Chairman and CEO of Raytheon Company said,”Our partnership with Student Veterans of America expands Raytheon’s efforts to empower members of our armed forces to achieve future success as they transition from active military service to civilian life.”
