NEC Financial Services Committee Hosts Discussion with Congressman Jim Himes

On May 8, 2020, the New England Council’s Financial Services Committee held a video conference with Representative Jim Himes (D-CT) to discuss his work as a member of the House Financial Services Committee. Congressman Himes sits on the Subcommittee for Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises and the Subcommittee for Terrorism and Illicit Finance.

The Congressman provided Council members with an update on the House Financial Services Committee’s work during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, Congressman Himes touched on COVID-19 relief package negotiations, the distribution of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and his work as member of the North East Recovery Task Force that focused on re-opening the New England region.
