New England Council Board Member Marcy Reed, Massachusetts President of National Grid, was honored this week by the YWCA of Boston as one of the organization’s 2014 Acadamy of Women Achievers (AWA) inductees. Established in 1995, the AWA celebrates women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in their professional and civic lives. Marcy and several other local women were honored at a luncheon in Boston on Wednesday, June 18.

“We women do great things in the workplace. I see it every day. We’re achievers, leaders, and problem-solvers,” Marcy wrote in a guest blog post for the YWCA.

As Massachusetts President, Marcy is responsible for the financial, operational, and customer service performance of National Grid in Massachusetts and manages relationships with regulators, government officials and the communities National Grid serves.  Marcy joined National Grid over 25 years ago and has held various positions in finance, merger integration, and corporate affairs.

Leaders from several other NEC member companies were also inducted to the Academy of Women Achievers this year:

The New England Council is proud to have such a respected leader as Marcy serve on our board, and we congratulate her and her fellow honorees on this great honor!
