Maine Medical Association Names New CEO

The Maine Medical Association (MMA), a New England Council member, has named Andrew MacLean as its new CEO. The MMA was founded in 1853 in Brunswick.

Mr. MacLean is an attorney with nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare and politics. He was a part of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine’s legal staff and served as former Governor John McKernan’s legal counsel and health policy aide. A current resident of Augusta, ME, Mr. MacLean graduated from Duke University in 1984 and received his law degree from University of Maine School of Law in 1991.

Mr. MacLean previously served as the MMA’s Deputy Executive Vice President and General Counsel, and will assume the CEO position on August 1, 2019.

The Council congratulates MMA on their new leadership and wishes Mr. McLean much success in his new role.
