NEC to Host 1st Annual Higher Ed Policy Conference

US Rep. Lori Trahan to Deliver Keynote

The New England Council will host its first annual New England Higher Education Policy Conference on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Northeastern University in Boston.

The half-day conference will begin with a luncheon featuring keynote remarks from U.S. Representative Lori Trahan, a member of the House Committee on Education & the Workforce, and will conclude with a networking reception.
The afternoon will also include two panel discussions:

  • Panel 1: Higher Education Act (HEA) Reauthorization – Outlook for legislative action and regional priorities, including accreditation and financial aid.
  • Panel 2: Workforce Development – Effective regional initiatives to prepare the 21st century innovation economy workforce.
