Granite State College Names New President

After roughly a dozen years away, Dr. Roxanne Gonzales is returning to NEC member Granite State College, having been recently chosen by the University System of New Hampshire to serve as president.

Dr. Gonzales comes to Granite State College (GSC) with a wealth of knowledge and expertise as a former dean and professor at the College of Professional Studies at Regis University in Denver, CO.  During her time at Regis, Dr. Gonzales aided in alleviating declining enrollment figures by creating new strategies that focused on marketing, retention, and articulation agreements with community colleges.  From 1994 to 2001, Dr. Gonzales served as the Director for Prior Learning Assessment at Granite State College.

“I am thrilled to be leading the wonderful and dedicated team at Granite State College and to collaborate with her sister institutions within the University System and with our state’s community colleges. It is good to be home!” said Dr. Gonzales.

With a special focus on adult learners, GSC has been ranked among “Best Online Degree Programs” in the Bachelor and Business Graduate Programs categories, according to U.S. News and World Report. Dr. Gonzales is scheduled to begin work on April 28th in Concord as GSC’s fifth president. The New England Council would like to extend a warm “welcome back” to Dr. Gonzales, and applauds GSC for its continued commitment to higher education.
