Google Integrates Voting Guide into Search Results
Google, a NEC member, has added a new tool to its search engine allowing users to find state specific voting guides.
Released earlier this month, the tool appears when searching “how to vote.” A summary box tells users how vote early, vote on Election Day, and how to submit an absentee ballot. Deadlines and ID requirements as well as other voting requirements are also provided. The guide follows Google’s earlier voter registration tool, which it says has been used by millions of voters.
Google product manager Emily Moxley says, “We hope that by giving people timely, relevant, and comprehensive information around how to register and how to vote, we will help empower people to connect to the political process.”
The New England Council thanks Google for their efforts to make voting easier and more accessible to millions of Americans.
