GE Preparing To Open New Headquarters in Marlborough, MA

New England Council member General Electric is preparing to open new headquarters for its’ Healthcare Life Sciences division in Marlborough, MA ,this summer. The headquarters are currently being renovated by Suffolk Construction, also an NEC member.

The Marlborough headquarters will employ about 500 people by 2017, according to GE estimates. 215 positions will be filled for the summer launch. These positions range from customer service staff and project managers to scientists and engineers. Tony Kotarski, executive properties project manager, said that GE chose Marlborough because it “is one of the premier life sciences clusters in the world.”

Erica Bell, senior global human resource leader at GE, further elaborated on GE’s decision saying, “When the company looked at different locations, Marlborough was seen as accessible to major highways, and being able to reach out to Boston as well as Worcester for academic resources.”

The New England Council congratulates GE on this new facility and commends the company for its commitment to the New England region.
