GE Aviation, a division of New England Council member GE, recently broke ground on a $50 million expansion on its facilities in Hooksett, NH. Governor Maggie Hassan was on hand for the groundbreaking and was one of many lawmakers to applaud the positive impact the expansion will have on the company and community.
The expansion is designed to help the facility handle a record backlog in engine orders. At this location, the company manufactures rotating parts for military and commercial jet engines. The facility employs 740 people and the expansion will help maintain stable employment. The expansion will be about 55,000 square feet.
“The state, county, and the surrounding community have been invaluable partners, and I know those partnerships will bring even more success as we expand our facility at Hooksett,” said Doug Folsom, leader of the Hooksett plant.
The New England Council congratulates GE on its expanding facility and its renewed commitment to the New England region.
