Former Sen. Bob Kerrey to speak at Vets Day Forum in Boston

home-base-logo-189x197Former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey will be the keynote speaker at a Veterans Day forum hosted by NEC member he Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program.  The forum, entitled Challenges and Hope; What’s Facing Returning Veterans and Military Families,  will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013, from 2:00  – 5:00 p.m at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum, Boston, MA.

The forum is meant to be an opportunity to pause, honor and learn more about the men and women – and their families — who have served and sacrificed for our nation.  In addition to former Sen. Kerrey, Michael Schoenbaum, PhD, Senior Advisor for Mental Health Services, Epidemiology and Economics in the Office of the Director NIMH, will also give remarks.  Boston Globe columnist Kevin Cullen will moderate a panel discussion, featuring the following panelists:

  • Thomas “T.J.” Brennan, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and Military Affairs reporter for The Daily News in Jacksonville, NC
  • Phillip Carter, Director of Military, Veterans and Society Program, Center for a New American Security
  • Mistress Carrie, Afternoon Drive DJ and Music Director of WAAF 97.7/107.3, who was embedded with units from the MA Army National Guard in Iraq and Afghanistan
  • Wes Moore, U.S. Army Veteran and New York Times best selling author
