Fidelity Promotes More Women to Leadership Roles

NEC member Fidelity Investments recently increased promotions of women in its stock-picking group, with around 30 percent of 2018’s fund manager appointments going to women. This is the highest number of women appointed in five years.

Janet Glazer is one of the women recently promoted at Fidelity. Glazer, who holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, recently filled a senior leadership team position overseeing the business side of Fidelity. Harvard MBA Nidhi Gupta was also recently promoted and will preside exclusively over $7.8 billion in technology assets. Recruiting more women to leadership roles is a challenge that the entire industry faces, pushing many executives to look for talent both on campus and within the companies.

Fidelity spokesperson Vin Loporchio said, “Increasing diversity is a top priority for Fidelity, and we are making tangible progress.”

The NEC commends Fidelity on their effort to foster a more inclusive workforce, and looks forward to its continued growth because of it.
