Fidelity Investments to Expand Commission-Free Investment Options
Fidelity Investments, an NEC member, will be increasing its
selection of zero-fee investment products. These new products are part of a
strategy for financial management firms to eliminate fees while attracting more
business and increasing the value of assets under management.
This development builds upon the decision Fidelity made last
year to become the first institution to introduce zero-fee mutual funds. These
products have no investment minimums, account fees, or account minimums, as
well as reduced expenses on existing Fidelity index fund mutual funds.
Anthony Rochte, Head of the Investments and Technology Group at Fidelity Institutional, commented that this “announcement further reinforces Fidelity’s relentless focus on providing investors with unparalleled value, simplicity and choice.”
The New England Council applauds Fidelity Investments on the
introduction of these innovative investment products and its effort to increase
the accessibility of investing while empowering customers.
