Fidelity Charitable Named Largest Charity in the Country

Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund, the philanthropic arm of NEC member Fidelity Investments, was named the largest charitable organization in the country by The Chronicle of Philanthropy.

Fidelity Charitable raised $4.6 billion last year, a 20 percent increase, making it the largest charity in the country for the first time in its 25-year history. Founded by Fidelity Investments in 1991, Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund has 280 employees in Boston, North Carolina, and Texas. The charity has set a goal to raise $25 billion in its first 25 years and as of September 30, 2016, it has raised more than $24 billion.

“I think it’s just the elegance of the process,” said Pamela Norley, President of the charity fund.  “Our mission is democratizing philanthropy. . . I think it’s just a continued, relentless mission.”

The New England Council congratulates Fidelity Charitable its remarkable and countless contributions to our region and our nation. Read more in the Boston Business Journal and The Chronicle of Philanthropy.
