Fasken Announces New Artificial Intelligence Initiative

Fasken, a New England Council member, recently announced the launch of Meese AI, a new initiative that has developed an artificial intelligence platform that helps lawyers automate, enable and enlighten legal tasks. Fasken is a full-service law firm with offices in Canada, the U.K., South Africa and China.

Meese AI uses machine learning and natural language programming to assist lawyers in creating client deliverables. The platform’s leading edge technology allows it to understand legal data and, among other things, highlight possible improvements with the document, providing the user with more insight into their work. The technology also allows lawyers to spend less time on repetitive tasks, so that more time can be spent on complex issues that support the client.

Mark Bowman, Founder of Meese AI and counsel at Fasken, explained, “We are incubating and using artificial intelligence to enhance the work of our lawyers: to increase quality and reduce costs for the benefit of our clients. We’ve built a platform to integrate with all aspects of legal work, to thrive within the demanding requirements of a top-tier law firm and to augment the already great work that our lawyers produce.”

The Council congratulates Fasken on this exciting new initiative and looks forward to seeing its impact on the legal field.
