NEC member Fallon Health recently opened their 15,500 square foot ElderCare Facility in Worcester, MA. Fallon Health, both an insurer and provider of health care, was founded in 1977.
The new facility will replace the original site on East Mountain Street which was opened nearly 25 years ago. The ElderCare center offers all-inclusive, coordinated, and patient-centered care to individuals over 55 years old who qualify for nursing home care, but wish to remain living independently. Upgrades to the facility include larger day rooms for meals and socializing, additional rehab and activity space, an expanded library with five computers, a salon, and two quiet rooms. The outdoor area has heated sidewalks for safety during the winter, dedicated parking spaces, and increased patio space with weather protection.
“While the needs of our participants and caregivers have evolved since Fallon Health opened our first Summit ElderCare location on East Mountain Street in Worcester back in 1995, our commitment to helping older adults continue living independently has not,” said Fallon Health President and CEO Richard Burke in a statement. “This new facility will allow us to address the medical and social needs of even more people in a way that supports their health and well-being.”
The Council congratulates Fallon Health’s new facility and thanks the organization for its commitment to improve the lives of its patients.
