NEC member Emerson College opened a state of the art facility in Los Angeles, CA, significantly expanding opportunities for students who are interested in careers in the entertainment industry.
The new 107,000 square foot facility on the iconic Sunset Boulevard marks Emerson’s permanent expansion in Los Angeles. The new facility, designed by architect Thom Mayne, will act as an “all in one campus” and will include screening rooms, video editing and mixing labs, dressing rooms, performance studios, classrooms, study halls, dormitories, and a café open to the public. Emerson Los Angeles (ELA) had previously operated about of rented classroom room which limited its offerings. The building will serve has home to students who partake in the ELA program, which is designed to give students accesses to opportunities in the entertainment industry.
“In one semester, we’ve tripled the networking opportunities our students had because we have a building to invite people to” said Kevin Bright, founding director of Emerson College Los Angeles.
A gala was held this in early March to commemorate the campus’ grand opening of the edifice, and students have been using the facility since January. The New England Council congratulates Emerson College on their expansion into L.A. and thanks them for their commitment to higher education.
