EMC CEO Joseph Tucci to lecture at Brown University
Two prominent New England Council Members will join forces in kicking off a technology lecture series featuring information technology CEOs from across the country. NEC member Brown University’s Computing and Information Services (CIS) will host “Cloud Meets Big Data: An Insider’s Look at the Information Technology Industry,” a lecture presented by chairman and CEO of EMC Corporation–also a NEC member.
In Brown University’s Sayles Hall on September 25, Tucci will discuss how technology trends in social media, mobile devices, big data, and cloud computing are reshaping business. Tucci, who has twice been named one of the world’s top CEOs by Barron’s, will give an expert insider’s perspective on the technology changes occurring in the marketplace, and what they mean for the future. The event is free and open to the public, and will also be available to watch via live stream on Brown’s website.
The event is the first in a lecture series designed to bring transformational technology leaders to Brown to share their ideas and vision for the future of technology with the Brown community and beyond. Ravi Pendse, vice president for CIS at Brown, will welcome guests and moderate a question and answer session.
EMC is a leading Fortune 500 Company specializing in cloud computing and big data applications; Brown University is a historical Ivy League with distinguished technology programs. Collaboration between the two will surely yield great results and the New England Council thanks them both for their contributions to the future of technology within New England.
