Eastern Bank Receives Corporate Ally Award from Boston Business Journal

New England Council member Eastern Bank has earned the Boston Business Journal’s Corporate Ally Award for demonstrating its belief in breaking down barriers that stand between people and prosperity, regardless of background.

Eastern Bank has received a perfect score for the past six years from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, based on its inclusive corporate policies and practices. The bank prides itself on serving customers, individuals, and organizations regardless of gender, marital or family status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ancestry or genetic background. In 2018 the bank contributed $200,000 to the LGBT community and raised $1 million in support of a Massachusetts ballot initiative to protect transgender rights.

The Council congratulates Eastern Bank on this award, and for setting an example for others to follow in creating an inclusive New England.
