New England Council member Don Rodman—one of our 2011 New Englanders of the Year–has been named the recipient of the 2012 CEO Social Leadership Award. Rodman, the founder of Rodman Ford in Foxborough is also the man behind New England’s largest charitable fundraiser for at-risk youth, the Rodman Rides for Kids.

Rodman started the ride in 1991, and since then the ride has raised over $61 Million for youth services organizations across Massachusetts. Chris McIntosh, publisher of the Boston Business Journal remarks that, “Don exemplifies a businessperson driven to give back, to use his influence and energy to make the community a better place.”

The CEO Leadership Award provides $25,000 to a local CEO to be used for a social initiative. Don Rodman will be honored at the BBJ’s annual Corporate Citizenship Summit on September 12, 2012 at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel.
