NEC member Deloitte has entered an agreement with HP to help the printing company market to manufacturers interested in buying 3-D printers.
Deloitte will assist HP in marketing to companies who are considering HP’s 3-D printers for manufacturing since Deloitte has extensive experience doing similar work. The two companies have a history of working together and in the past eight months have already seen a growth in sales for HP. Instead of promoting their 3-D printers to current clients who might not have a need for them, HP will be marketing to new audiences and, with Deloitte’s help, they hope to acquire a sizable share of what HP’s CEO describes as a $12 million dollar 3-D printing market.
“What was impossible just a few years ago is now possible. This is not just a big announcement on paper,” said Deloitte CEO Punit Renjen. “We are making big investments in terms of capabilities, in terms of personnel, that will be focused on going to market with HP and the ability to deliver. We do alliances with entities that we believe are world leaders.”
