In an effort to aid veterans, active military members and military spouses in finding “meaningful employment”, CVS Caremark recently sponsored a “Hiring Our Heroes” Hiring Fair at the National Guard Armory in Warwick, Rhode Island.
CVS Caremark, a NEC member, partnered with the Rhode Island National Guard and Reserve to host the job fair. Notably, the fair followed CVS Caremark’s President and CEO Larry Merlo signing the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve. Merlo’s pledge was representative of CVS Caremark’s staunch commitment to supporting the nation’s veterans and other active military members.
“Hiring Our Heroes plays a vital role in connecting our nation’s veterans to jobs. Our servicemen and women, and their families, sacrifice so much for our country. This initiative helps ease their transition from active duty to civilian life, and we are proud to be a part of it.” Merlo said.
One of the nine “Chairman’s Circle” national sponsors of the Hiring Our Heroes project, CVS Caremark has engaged in more than 40 hiring fairs for veterans across the country.
