Council Outlines Healthcare Priorities as Congress Considers Fourth Round of COVID-19 Relief

In April 2020, as Congress began to consider a fourth round of federal COVID-19 relief and economic stimulus legislation, the New England Council again weighed in with the region’s Congressional delegation highlighting recommendations that would have a beneficial impact on the New England economy.

Included in the letter, which was sent to each New England Senator and Representative, were a number of healthcare-related items, including:

  • Financial assistance for healthcare providers and community health centers
  • Health insurance premium assistance
  • Emergency funding for public health and social services
  • Compensation for costs of providing COVID-19 care
  • Coverage for mental health services
  • Delay in electronic visit verification requirements
  • Support for medical research
