Commonwealth Care Alliance Donates to RI Nonprofits

Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA), a NEC member, recently announced that it donated $58,000 to three nonprofit organization in Rhode Island who focus on food security. CCA is a Boston-based integrated health care services organization.

“As a health care organization dedicated to serving high-risk, traditionally hard-to-reach individuals, we at CCA have a firsthand understanding of the impact hunger and other social determinants of health can have on a person’s overall health and well-being, “said Corey McCarty, CCA’s Rhode Island General Manger,  “We are incredibly proud to support the great work these three organizations are doing to address food insecurity, which is making a real difference in the health and well-being of Rhode Islanders from all across the state.”

This donation comes as CCA prepares to expand its services into the Ocean State in early 2022. Meals on Wheels, the Elisha Project, and Food on the Move were each recipients of a portion of the funding.

The NEC congratulates CCA on their expansion and applauds their generosity. Read more at the Providence Business News.
