Citizens Donates $1M to Feeding America & Announces Partnership

Citizens Bank, an NEC member, recently donated $1 million to Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and joined the nonprofit as a leadership-level partner.  The donation will support programs such as Striking Out Hunger in Rhode Island and Spring for Meals in Boston, as well as several programs in Pennsylvania.

Citizens Financial Group Chairman and CEO Bruce Van Saun said, “Hunger is an issue that touches every community, and this new partnership enables us to further strengthen our strong local partnerships with food banks across our footprint while extending our geographic reach. It also gives more of our colleagues the opportunity to volunteer to benefit their community, which is at the heart of our culture.”

The New England Council commends Citizens Bank for its longtime commitment to fighting hunger and looks forward to continuing to see Citizens Bank supporting communities throughout our region. Read more in the Citizens Bank Website and Providence Business News.
