Citizens Bank Breaks Ground on New Corporate Campus

New England Council member Citizens Bank broke ground recently on its new corporate campus in Johnston, Rhode Island.

The new construction comes as its current lease in Cranston, Rhode Island, is set to expire in 2018. Citizens’ continued commitment to Rhode Island was recognized at the groundbreaking ceremony by Governor Gina Raimondo, Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed, and Representatives Jim Langevin and David Cicilline.

“After nearly 180 years in Rhode Island we very much hope the decision to stay in Rhode Island was an easy one even an automatic one,” said Senator Whitehouse. “It’s certainly one that none of us take for granted.”

Over 3,200 employees will move to the 108-acre Johnston campus from other parts of the state.

The New England Council congratulates Citizens Bank for breaking ground on its new campus and for its proud history as a New England institution.
