Cianbro Awarded $27 Million U.S. Navy Construction Project

New England Council member Cianbro Corp. recently received a $26.9 million contract awarded by the U.S. Navy for construction and dock repairs to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) in Kittery, Maine.

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard houses mainly overhaul, repair, and modernization projects for the U.S. Navy’s Los Angeles-class fast attack submarines. Cianbro will replace the caisson and repair the concrete entrance structures at dry dock number three. The project is expected to be complete by May of 2019.

“We applaud Cianbro for securing this competitive contract from the Navy and expect that their work on repairs will provide valuable support to the daily operations at PNSY,” said Senators Susan Collins and Angus King in a joint statement.

The New England Council congratulates Cianbro on the competitively-awarded project. Read more in the press release from Senator Collins and on Naval Today.
