Summer is already off to a great start here at the New England Council with several fantastic events, and more in store in the coming weeks.
Last week, we were pleased to welcome Congressman Michael Capuano back to our Congressional Roundtable series. The Congressman spoke to a large crowd of over 100 NEC members at the Hampshire House on June 20. He discussed the debt ceiling debate that is underway in Washington, and his views on cutting federal spending.
On June 27, we returned to the Hampshire House for a Congressional Roundtable Breakfast with Congresswoman Niki Tsongas. The Congresswoman gave us her take on the debt ceiling debate, and touched on a variety of other issues, from her recent visit to Afghanistan to the need to support small businesses in our slow-to-recover economy.
Members can read more about both of the Representatives’ remarks by logging into the Members Only section of our website and clicking on Event Summaries. Photos from both events are available on our Flickr page.
We have some great events in the coming weeks, including Congressional Roundtables with Representatives Peter Welch, Jim McGovern, and Chellie Pingree, as well as a reception with Delaware Senator Tom Carper, and a special event featuring the Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Stay tuned for more details and check the Upcoming Events section of our website.
