Brigham and Women’s Hospital Announces International Healthcare Project

On Monday, New England Council members Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Partners HealthCare International announced that they will be working with Jiahui International Hospital (JIH) in Shanghai to develop a “women’s health center of excellence.”

This new project is part of a larger partnership between BWH and JIH that has spanned the past 5 years. BWH and Partners have been acting as consultants for JIH in the creation of this center. BWH will play an important role in the creation of the women’s health program at the new hospital including developing obstetric, gynecology, and in vitro fertilization programs. JIH is scheduled to be completed in 2017. Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), also a New England Council member and a member of Partners, is also working with JIH in the creation of a cancer center.

“As global citizens, we are committed to forging meaningful partnerships that allow us to share our clinical, scientific and teaching expertise for the benefit of people around the world. We look forward to working with Jiahui International Hospital to improve the health and well-being of women in China,” stated President of Brigham and Women’s Healthcare Elizabeth G. Nabel, MD.

The New England Council commends Brigham and Women’s and Partners Healthcare for their international efforts and commitment to healthcare.
