NEC Member Bridgewell recently celebrated its 60th Anniversary with a gala event at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. The well-attended event raised $355,000 to support the organization’s work, surpassing the goal for the event by 15 percent.
Bridgewell is a Peabody-MA-based nonprofit that supports individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities in northeaster Massachusetts. The organization’s 10th Annual Imagine the Possibilities celebration drew some 360 attendees. Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Bridgewell honored former executive director of Project COPE Mark Kennard, whose organization provided community-based prevention, education, and treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders before merging with Bridgewell in 2014. The funds raised at the gala will be used to meeting individualized needs of people in Bridgewell’s care.
“We are thrilled we exceeded our gala fundraising goal thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and the support of the individuals who attended the event. . .The money raised from this event allows Bridgewell to continue its mission. We look forward to continuing to serve those who need it most, and to providing core community support for many more decades to come,” said Bridgewell President & CEO Kelly J. Martin. The funds were raised from ticket sales, sponsorships, online auctions, and Fund-A-Need auctions at the gala.
The New England Council congratulates Bridgewell on its 60th anniversary and thanks the organization for the important services it provides to individuals with disabilities. Read more on MassNonprofitNews and on Bridgewell’s website.
