BofA, Citizens Recognized for Mobile Banking Apps

NEC members Bank of America and Citizens Bank earned high rankings and multiple recognitions in the 2013 Javelin Strategy & Research’s annual Mobile Banking Financial Institution Scorecard for their finely tailored and consumer-focused mobile banking apps. Javelin’s report noted “exuberant growth” in mobile banking and recognized Bank of America (BofA) and Citizens Bank (Citizens) for their impressive technological innovations focused on improving the customer experience and increasing their market share. Both financial institutions have apps in the Apple App Store and Google Play that enjoy consistently high ratings from customers.

Javelin’s report was based on customer satisfaction and the technology behind the app. Both BofA and Citizens received many awards. BofA earned the highest number of awards, including the title of “Best in Class Mobile Banking Provider.”

“Bank of America earned Javelin’s Best in Class Mobile Banking Provider award by offering an expansive suite of cutting-edge functions across a range of devices, platforms and channels,” the report said.

Citizens won the “Highest Mobile Banking Smartphone Ratings Award” for having the highest number of favorable reviews and a 4.5 out 5 ranking in the online app stores. Citizens Bank was also recognized as having one of the “best integrated apps” and one of the highest amounts of overall customer satisfaction.

“We are very excited once again to receive this recognition, especially since it is based on the positive feedback of our customers,” said Brad Conner, vice chairman for consumer banking at RBS Citizens Financial Group. “As we continue to invest in new functionality for mobile banking, we are maintaining our focus on ease of use and on providing customers with the on-the-go features to help them bank better.”

The New England Council congratulates both Bank of America and Citizens Bank on earning recognition for the excellent mobile banking and other services they provide.
