NEC members Bank of America and Citizens Bank earned high rankings and multiple recognitions in the 2013 Javelin Strategy & Research’s annual Mobile Banking Financial Institution Scorecard for their finely tailored and consumer-focused mobile banking apps. Javelin’s report noted “exuberant growth” in mobile banking and recognized Bank of America (BofA) and Citizens Bank (Citizens) for their impressive technological innovations focused on improving the customer experience and increasing their market share. Both financial institutions have apps in the Apple App Store and Google Play that enjoy consistently high ratings from customers.
Javelin’s report was based on customer satisfaction and the technology behind the app. Both BofA and Citizens received many awards. BofA earned the highest number of awards, including the title of “Best in Class Mobile Banking Provider.”
“Bank of America earned Javelin’s Best in Class Mobile Banking Provider award by offering an expansive suite of cutting-edge functions across a range of devices, platforms and channels,” the report said.
Citizens won the “Highest Mobile Banking Smartphone Ratings Award” for having the highest number of favorable reviews and a 4.5 out 5 ranking in the online app stores. Citizens Bank was also recognized as having one of the “best integrated apps” and one of the highest amounts of overall customer satisfaction.
