Babson College Announces its B.E.T.A. Challenge Winners

NEC Member Babson College recently announced its Babson Entrepreneurial Thought & Action (BETA) challenge winners after a venture showcase 18 semifinalists and pitch competition between 9 finalists, awarding over $200,000 in cash and prizes.

The challenge awards winners in three categories: undergraduate, graduate, and alumni. The undergraduate winner was Cleancult, which aims to deliver effective, non-toxic laundry detergent directly to doors monthly. The graduate winner, Manomer, seeks to use magnetic markers to redesign packaging for zero waste environments as the magnetic markers enable recovery from streams for better recycling. Alumni winner Clarke’s Organics considers providing everyday natural personal care and food products to empower single-mother families.

Winners were chosen based on successfully demonstrating that they achieved major milestones through action. The winners each received a grand prize of $20,000 in cash plus services from corporate sponsors including Cummings Properties, 88 acres, Canon Copy Center, Contrary Capital, MassChallenge, Naturebox, and Think Board. $2,500 was also awarded to the two other finalists ventures in each of the three competitions. Babson’s MBA has been continuously ranked first by the U.S. News & World Report, with 2018 being its 25th consecutive year highlighting the school’s devotion to entrepreneurship.
