Partnerships for the Talent Pipeline: Meeting with MIT, Stonehill College, Bridgewater State and MassTech
Please join us for Partnerships for the Talent Pipeline: Advanced Manufacturing & Integrated Photonics
Join us for a discussion on developing the photonics workforce and this innovative partnership between MIT, Bridgewater State, and Stonehill College. We will be joined by the three schools, along with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and local manufacturers to discuss efforts to creating a regional hub in southeastern Massachusetts for photonics education to bridge the gap between workforce needs and qualified technicians. The partnership is geared toward expanded academic offerings, high-tech research laboratories with advanced equipment and technologies, and established partnerships within industry, academia, government and the local community.
The Advanced Manufacturing & Integrated Photonics program offered by the Stonehill-Bridgewater Partnership for Integrated Photonics is supported by a $770,000 sub-grant as part of a $1.8 million grant from the U.S. Office of Naval Research grant to MIT’s Knowledge and Innovation for Manufacturing Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
MassBridge was started in 2020, when the Commonwealth of Massachusetts was awarded a $3.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Defense’s Manufacturing Technology Program (DoD ManTech) for a manufacturing technician training program that will serve as a national model.
Join us to hear about how these institutions are using these grants to upskill the photonics workforce!
