Hanover Insurance Group appoints new Chief Operating Officer

New England Council member, The Hanover Insurance Group, has promoted Executive Vice President Richard “Dick” Lavey to the new role of chief operating officer. Dick joined Hanover in 2004 and is an accomplished senior executive with more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. He plays a key role in developing the company’s business strategy, driving collaboration between the firm’s business and technology organizations. Dick is also currently the chairman of the board for the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) and sits on the executive committee of The Insurance Information Institute.
