United Way in Southbridge awards $440k to nonprofits tackling community needs
Twenty-five local nonprofit organizations have split $440,000 in funding from the Southbridge-based United Way of South Central Massachusetts, a New England Council member, aimed at supporting services addressing regional needs including food insecurity, homelessness, and mental health.
The grants are funded through UWSCM’s annual campaign with the goal of bridging the gap. Grant recipients were selected based on their agency’s mission, programs, and community impact.
“By supporting these trusted partner agencies and nonprofits, we are able to make sure everyone thrives. We are able to link people to the resources and services they need and make sure that vulnerable populations get the help they deserve, keeping our community strong and connected,” said Shana Bandelean, UWSCM campaign chair.
The New England Council commends UWSCM for its efforts to tackle a range of needs in communities throughout the region.
