Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston hosts Forum on affordable housing in Maine
New England Council member, Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, recently hosted a forum focused on one of Maine’s pressing issues—affordable housing. The event, titled “Leveraging Partnerships and Capital: Unlocking Barriers to Affordable Housing & Economic Development,” brought together leaders in the field to share their insights. The topics discussed included land use reform, best practices in housing development, and tools for successful affordable housing and economic development.
The forum took place on Thursday, May 2, from 9 AM to noon at the Portland Harbor Hotel. Greg Payne, Senior Advisor of Housing Policy in the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, delivered the keynote speech. Panelists featured Cullen Ryan, Executive Director at MaineHousing; Daniel Brennan, Director of MaineHousing; Rebecca Hatfield, President and CEO of Avesta Housing; and Scott Sarapas, Vice President of Androscoggin Savings Bank.
