Maine Credit Union League names new President, the first woman in the role
Elise Baldacci, the former deputy chief of staff for Maine Governor Janet Mills, will serve as the president of the Maine Credit Union League, a New England Council member. Baldacci, who began her early career at both the Maine Credit Union League and its financial technology services provider Synergent, will begin on June 3.
Expressing her excitement, she said, “In many ways, it feels like I’m coming home. I’ve always been deeply passionate about credit unions and the tremendous difference they make in their communities and in their member’s lives.”
Baldacci, niece of former Governor John Baldacci, will succeed interim director Chris Wescott, who stepped in for Todd Mason when he left to return to his home state of Michigan. Elise served as the deputy chief of staff for Governor Mills since 2021 and had been at Maine Credit Union League since 2014 before that as director of government affairs.
The New England Council would like to congratulate both Elise and the Maine Credit Union League for the appointment of its new President.
