Connecticut Airport Authority Executive receives Distinguished Service Award
The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) has awarded Kevin A. Dillon, Executive Director of New England Council member, the Connecticut Airport Authority, its Distinguished Service Award.
As the largest global professional organization in aviation, the AAAE’s Distinguished Service Award is among the highest honors in the industry and recognizes laureates’ personal and professional accomplishments. Throughout his 48-year tenure in the industry, Dillion has played a vital role in managing airports across the Eastern Seaboard, where he has served and assisted in various leadership positions. Since taking the helm at the Connecticut Airport Authority in 2013, Dillon has made major contributions to Bradley International Airport (BDL) and developed airports nationwide.
Under Dillon’s wing, BDL has re-established transatlantic and West Coast travel introduced two ultra-low-cost carriers, and attracted significant cargo operators like Amazon Air. As for his work on other national airports, Dillon’s capital development plans have seen both regional and national aviation service providers soar to new heights. Furthermore, Dillon has made significant contributions to community groups like the MetroHartford Alliance and the Connecticut Convention and Sports Bureau.
“[Dillon’s] ability to forge enduring partnerships with the FAA, airlines, and the community and airport stakeholders showcases his exceptional talent for collaboration and relationship-building,” AAE chair Perry Miller said in a statement. “Kevin’s dedication and unwavering commitment to the aviation industry are exceptional.”
The New England Council would like to congratulate Dillon and the Connecticut Airport Authority on their recognition of excellence in the aviation industry.
