Ashley Rose Lokken
Ashley Rose Lokken serves as the Digital Communications Manager for the New England Council, operating from the Boston office. In this role, she oversees the Council’s digital and social media communications. Ashley is also the Chair of the Rising Stars Network, a Council initiative aimed at connecting and engaging young professionals.
Her journey with the Council began in May 2021, following her tenure as the Digital Communications Associate at the Barbara Lee Family Foundation. There, she spearheaded digital and social media campaigns to bolster women’s representation in political and leadership roles.
Before joining the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, Ashley held the position of Digital Account Executive at O’Neill and Associates, a Public and Government Relations firm based in Boston and Washington, D.C. She managed digital media strategies, social media content, and was the lead producer for the firm’s podcast, OA on Air, serving clients across diverse sectors.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ashley is a passionate LGBTQ+ advocate and has contributed as a freelance writer to INTO Magazine, an LGBTQ+ publication. Her early career was marked by internships with the New Hampshire Democratic Party, WGBH, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where she supported former State Representative Paul Brodeur as a communications intern.
Originally from South Florida, Ashley earned a B.S. in Journalism from Emerson College. She is currently furthering her education at George Washington University, pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Management. Ashley is also a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.
