Harvard aims to spin out more ‘tough tech’ startups
New England Council member, Harvard University, has increased efforts to push forward more tech startups through the Harvard Grid, a business accelerator.
The start of the Harvard Grid was announced in 2022, a program focused on tech startup formation and helping entrepreneurs with funding, finding a workspace, educational programming, and networking. The Grid is meant to add to the already existing Harvard program and aspires to help translate university research projects into companies.
When describing the ways the Grid has helped his research on wearable medical technology, Professor Connor Walsh said, “the Grid is kind of filling this gap between, ‘OK, we have some promising research’ and ‘now we’d like another year to refine it, optimize it and be able to generate a proof of concept to show the value.’”
The New England Council congratulates Harvard University for this initiative.
