New England Council member, Boston University has announced Siobhan Dullea as the new head of Innovate@BU, a university initiative that aids students’ innovative and entrepreneurial growth. Since its inception five years ago, Innovate@BU has experienced tremendous growth while also preparing more university students for their eventual careers and community involvement.

Dullea is a BU alumnus and has decades of leadership experience concerning supporting and guiding startups to spark innovation and growth. In 2019, she was named “Visionary on the Rise” by Boston Magazine as well as being awarded the FCW Fed 100 in 2021. Part of Dullea’s previous leadership was spent as President and CEO of MassChallenge, a startup accelerator, and has contributed to the creation of hundreds of thousands of new jobs in Boston and around the world.

“Innovation is coming up with a solution to a problem and executing it. It’s not just about having ideas; it’s about getting things done,” said Dullea. “Every industry and career can use innovators. I want to help any BU student from any school or college learn about how they can innovate in their field of study, career, or passion area. That means that Innovate@BU needs to foster an inclusive environment in all its activities and connect students to the many resources available across BU. Innovation drives positive change in the world and Innovate@BU will continue to inspire the next generation of multi-disciplinary innovators to multiply that positive change.”

The New England Council would like to congratulate Siobhan Dullea on this new leadership position.
