Fallon Health CEO and President announces retirement
New England Council member, Fallon Health, CEO and President, Richard Burke announced his plans to retire after spending 25 years with the nonprofit healthcare services organization. With eight of those years spent as President and CEO, Burke plans to remain in the position until a successor is found through a timely search led by board member, Deborah Enos.
Under Burke’s leadership, Fallon Health pioneered a Medicare Advantage plan for its members—now, 80% of Fallon Health members participate in Medicare or Medicaid. Fallon Health has also spearheaded innovative health programs for older adults, such as the Program of All-Inclusive Care for Elderly (PACE), which provides in-place medical and social services.
“Although I’m looking forward to retirement, I will miss the truly important work that we do in our community and the people who do it. Fallon Health is different from other health plans. We take care of our members and the communities where they live, and that makes coming to work every day extremely gratifying,” said Burke. “The progress we’ve made as a team to create a solid foundation for long-term stability will serve our members and the community well, now and into the future.”
The New England Council congratulates Richard Burke for his outstanding work at Fallon Health and his tireless dedication to serving the community.
